Could somone rip out my lung, please?

Things have been quiet on my blog. It's due to Thanksgiving traveling, Christmas decorating, and a freakin cold that is driving me insane. It's the kind that makes you want to reach into your mouth, grab a handful of lung, and just yank it out.

So, I haven't done too much on the writing sphere cause I haven't felt good. That's not to say I haven't been busy. Over the past week or so, Mother Nature has dumped a couple feet of snow where I live. Yesterday morning we had another two inches on the roads. On my way to volunteer at my kids' school, I saw that my neighbor's big old truck had slid off the driveway and one tire was hanging precariously over a ditch.

This is my specialty. You see, I drive the most uncool car for this very reason. It is a Chevrolet Astro van. Yes, you read it right--one of those overgrown shoe boxes that are as ugly as ugly comes. It's good points are that it's AWD, has an upgraded heavy duty truck transmission, a 4.3 liter engine, and brand new studded snow tires (and seats eight people--hello, carpool mom!).

Back to the snow emergency. I hop out with my tow rope in hand. (I keep one in my car during the winter for moments like these.) My neighbor hooks it to his truck and my beastly machine literally pulled his truck out of the ditch. I tap the snow from my boots, get back into the car, and make it to kindergarten to do an activity with my daughter's class.

Moral of the story? Drive classy, fast cars in the summer, but leave Utah winters to the Astro. :-)
